SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Youth interested in raising or showing swine should check out the new one-day “Youth Swine Camp” scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 20 at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, Springfield.
Brian Anderson of Carney, Kansas will be at the camp to share his expertise on selection, feeding, fitting, showmanship and more.
Youth participating in either FFA or 4-H are encouraged to attend. The event is open any youth, no matter their county of residence.
Participants do need to bring their own animal for practice.
Camp is $20 per member and includes lunch. Parents are encouraged to stay but are asked to pay $5 toward lunch.
