LAMBERTON, Minn. — Workshops for new and early-career farmers will be held in Redwood Falls in March. Your Farm, Your Finances, Your Future will highlight the importance of good financial management in a farming operation. The Redwood Falls workshop is on Tuesday, March 5 at the Pizza Ranch from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Slayton workshop is on Thursday, March 7 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Both workshops are free to attend and include materials.
Allen Deutz of the Southwest Minnesota Farm Business Management Association will lead these interactive, small group workshops. The educational program will touch on record keeping, loan management, financial statements and their uses, financial ratios and their meanings, and how the Southwest Minnesota Farm Business Management Association uses benchmarking to give agricultural producers an “apples to apples” confidential comparison on how your farm business is performing compared to your peers. These tools provide a competitive edge when profit margins are narrow.
There is no fee to attend these workshops. The buffet is open to attendees at their own cost. However, to attend and reserve your space and materials we ask that you contact Gretchen Thillen at 507-752-5094 or e-mail at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Registration deadline is Friday, March 1, 2019
This event is sponsored by the Southwest Minnesota Farm Business Management Association and University of Minnesota Extension.
