ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) Young Farmers and Ranchers (YF&R) Committee held the preliminary rounds of the Discussion Meet at the MFBF Leadership Conference at the Sanford Convention Center in Bemidji on February 4. Contestants were judged on their basic knowledge of critical farm issues and their ability to exchange ideas and information in a setting aimed at cooperative problem solving.
Eight semi-finalists were selected and will compete in the final two rounds of competition at the MFBF Annual Meeting in November. The eight semi-finalists are: Megan Roberts from Blue Earth County, Angela Guentzel from LeSueur County, Nathan Roth from Wadena County, Katie Winslow from Goodhue County, DiDi Edwards from Nobles County, Amanda Carlson from Goodhue County, Kirby Schmidt from Itasca County (Arrowhead Regional) and Carl Sackreiter from Winona County.
