WILLISTON, Vt. — Yankee Farm Credit, provider of agricultural credit and business services, announced the promotion of Daniel Shepard, CPA, CGMA to Chief Finance Officer. He assumed his new role September 1 and is working out of the Association’s Williston offices.
“I am very excited to have this opportunity to serve our members as Yankee’s Chief Financial Officer. I hope to bring the same level of dedication and passion as our outgoing CFO Pam Simek,” said Mr. Shepard.
Mr. Shepard joined the Association in October of 2016 as the Controller, and has expanded the Internal Controls of Financial Reporting program, financial forecasting, stress testing and financial and regulatory reporting. Stepping into the Chief Financial Officer role, he hopes to continue to leverage his team to seek out continual improvements and efficiencies throughout the organization. Prior to Yankee, he worked as an Audit Manager at Gallagher Flynn and Company in South Burlington, VT. He worked with closely held, venture capital and private equity owned companies across several industries.
Mr. Shepard is Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Vermont and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) with an additional certification in the COSO 2013 Integrated Framework. He is an active member in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Vermont Society of Certified Public Accountants. He graduated from the State University at Plattsburgh, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy and Business.
Mr. Shepard also serves on the Board of Directors for HOPE Works, Inc. in Burlington VT; an organization dedicated to preventing and helping those impacted by sexual violence. He is currently serving as Treasurer and is a member of the Executive and Finance committee.
