MADISON — The Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation, Inc. (WROF) is proud to announce the WROF Premier Scholarship – an award of up to $10,000 to be presented to a Wisconsin high school senior pursuing a post-secondary education following graduation.
“As an organization focused on fostering the vitality of rural Wisconsin, we encourage our best and brightest to apply for this one-of-a-kind scholarship,” says Joan Behr, WROF President.
In addition to the individual award, the student’s high school will also be eligible to receive a $5,000 grant to be applied to a STEM or agricultural project benefitting all students enrolled in the school.
“Not only is WROF helping an individual with their education, but we are augmenting their high school’s ag or STEM programming as well,” Behr says.
The student recipient must be a high school senior at one of Wisconsin’s public or private schools, who has been living in rural Wisconsin for at least two years. “Rural” is defined as traditional rural areas and rural towns of 25,000 population or less. The award will support tuition only, up to $2,500 per semester, for any post high school experience in Wisconsin and will continue as long as a 2.5 GPA is maintained.
The deadline to apply is prior to midnight February 28, 2020.
