ARDMORE, Okla. — The Noble Research Institute will host a Fall Grazing Workshop from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, at the Addison Ranch, located at 7051 Pike Road in Burneyville, Oklahoma.
This workshop, which is open to the public, is designed to assist agricultural producers in improving their pastures and grazing management skills. “Wildlife habitat management is and will continue to be an important objective of many grazing managers,” said Russell Stevens, Noble Research Institute wildlife and range consultant. “This workshop will also assist new ranchers in developing proper grazing management strategies to enhance both ecologic and economic sustainability.”
During the workshop, landowner Brett Addison will discuss his operational goals, grazing strategies and impacts, and managing livestock alongside a commercial hunting operation. Noble Research Institute consultants will discuss brush management objectives and considerations. Consultants will also share the livestock and wildlife uses of different plant species during a plant identification walk.
This workshop is offered at no charge but preregistration is requested. For more information or to register, please visit www.noble.org/events, or contact Danielle Pacifico at 580-224-6376 or Trisha DeLozier at 580-224-6377.
