RUTLAND, Vt. — On June 3, 2021, the Vermont Woodlands Association will be hosting their monthly Woods Whys webinar with Commissioner Michael Snyder, author of Woods Whys: An Exploration of Forests and Forestry. In these monthly chats, Commissioner Snyder delves into the topics of his book and answers questions from attendees. The webinar is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. and is open to foresters, forest owners, and enthusiasts of all experience levels. One CFE is also available.
Michael Snyder is the Commissioner of the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation, serving since 2011. Prior to this position he was the Chittenden County forester for 14 years, taught forestry courses at UVM, and wrote the “Woods Whys” column for Northern Woodlands Magazine. Commissioner Snyder also serves as State Forester, Chair of the Vermont Outdoor Recreation Economic Collaborative, and is a Vermont licensed forester. Commissioner Snyder’s book Woods Whys was published in 2019 and has been celebrated as a good resource for anyone who loves the woods and seeks to learn more about them.
