EUREKA, Ill. — Twelve local Woodford County 4-H members held their first 4-H Showcase presentation for the residents of Snyder Village in Metamora on Tuesday, August 15. The youth, having just finished showing at both the Illinois State Fair and Woodford County 4-H Show, brought several of their 4-H projects to share with the residents. Project displays ranged from rockets and shooting sports items, to a duct-tape dress and several visual arts pieces, and more!
This event provided a great opportunity for the youth to show off their talents one more time as they spoke with each resident about their project’s journey. It also provided these residents a small glimpse of what was at the county show this year in which some of them were unable to attend.
Residents in attendance shared a few words with us on what they thought of the 4-H Showcase.
“We are amazed at the talent that the young people have brought to Snyder Village.”
“We have been attending the 4-H Fair for over forty years and last year we were in the process of moving and this year we had other obligations. There is no way that we would have missed this when it was in our own back yard.”
The evening concluded with a public presentation speech from Collin Grebner entitled, “Cheers to Truth!” and a presentation from Rachel Casey on becoming a 4-H Shooting Sports National Ambassador.
The Woodford County 4-H staff are grateful for this opportunity to partner with the staff at Snyder Village, Jerra Withers, and Susan Grebner, and we look forward to more 4-H Showcase events in the future!
