CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — The Penn State Extension Dairy Team is holding a Women Rooted in Agriculture workshop on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the Ag Heritage Building, adjacent to the Franklin County Extension Office, 185 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg, PA. The meeting will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is free, with lunch provided, but registration is required by January 17. Lunch is sponsored by M&T Bank.
The day is designed as one of learning, sharing and relaxing for women involved in agriculture. The topic will be “Fast Meals for the Farm Family – Timely, cost effective, quick meals incorporating dairy products.”
Samantha Robison, Extension Educator, said participants will prepare meals and invited attendees to bring along their favorite recipes that contain dairy products. She said, “Farm women often are heavily involved in the management and operation of the farm, leaving little time to prepare foods for the family meals – usually a job which for which they are responsible. We hope to make meal preparation easier – as well as nutritious.
Cassie Yost, Extension Educator, will also be presenting. Yost said, “The Women Rooted in Agriculture series has proven to be very helpful to those who attend, offering support and networking possibilities as well as relaxation and inspiration.”
