If any of these apply to you, please join this Women Rooted in Ag event with Penn State Extension educators as we explore the basics of canning on Friday, November 19, 2021, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Extension Educator and Registered Dietician, Lynn James will be our speaker and demonstrator for the program. Ms. James works at providing educational program leadership to adults, families, and youth on improving nutrition, health, and food safety in Adams, Franklin, York, Cumberland, and Dauphin counties, as well as state-wide leadership for nutrition and health program training and curriculum development. Her current program focus is community nutrition research and programming in food and culture and family chronic disease prevention, Type 2 Diabetes, and food safety.
Lynn James, MS, RDN, LDN, will be sharing her expertise in food preservation and nutrition with a live demonstration working with apples. During the workshop, we will discuss the basics of getting started canning, supplies needed, equipment needed, and how to prepare the food safely.
