HUTCHINSON, Minn. — University of Minnesota Extension, in collaboration with the Minnesota Dairy Initiative – SouthCentral Region, have announced the upcoming Winter Dairy Series in an effort to bring dairy production education to the region.
The 2019 “Women in Dairy” event will be held on Tuesday, January 29th at the Crow River Winery & Vineyard. The featured speaker of the evening will be Julie Tesch from the Center for Rural Policy and Development. This event’s focus is to inspire women with ties to the dairy industry through networking, education and empowerment. This event will run from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., beginning with registration/social gathering and followed by dinner and the program speaker starting at 7:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required. Cost: $25; $20 early bird discount available if received by January 14th, 2019, to the McLeod County Extension office. From growing up on a family farm to holding leadership roles at the local, state and national level, Julie Tesch has held a lifelong commitment to agriculture. Her experience serving as an advocate for educational programs, youth development, relationship building, and rural policy gives her a unique perspective on many of the issues today’s producers face. In her current role as President & CEO for the Center for Rural Policy & Development, Julie provides direction to policy makers on these issues with unbiased information and evaluation resources, and as a Ziglar Legacy Certified trainer and speaker, Julie works with individuals and companies to advance and improve the quality of life in Greater Minnesota. Throughout the evening’s presentation, Juile will draw from her diverse experiences to help attendees think differently, achieve their goals, and start down the path of “Building the Best You”.
