Wisconsin Pork Association annual meeting June 2

All Wisconsin pork producers are invited to participate in this daylong event

LANCASTER, Wis. — The Wisconsin Pork Association (WPA) will host their annual meeting at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells on June 2. All Wisconsin pork producers are invited to participate in this daylong event. There is no fee to register, but you must RSVP no later than May 21st to reserve a lunch.

Annual Meeting Agenda
8:30 – 9:00 Registration
9:00 – 11:00 Annual Meeting
11:00 – 12:00 National Reports
12:00 – 12:30 Lunch
12:30 – 1:30 Keynote Speaker by Dr. Neil DeBuse,
1:30-2:00 Adjourn

Rooms will be available at the Chula Vista for $99 under the Wisconsin Pork Association group rate. To make reservations call (855) 388-4782.

The keynote speaker of the event is Dr. Neil DeBuse, DVM. Dr. DeBuse is the founder and president of Minnesota Swine Reproduction Center PC. He has over 20 years of experience as a veterinarian and as a pork production manager. Dr. DeBuse has served as a member of the WPA Swine Health Committee for several years. He has provided expertise on disease management and biosecurity. His keynote will focus on the current swine health rule. Producers in all facets of the industry are encouraged to attend this presentation. There will be time for Q&A.

There are four director positions to fill. North District – Jim Magolski has served two terms and is not eligible for re-election. Southeast – Brian Klubertanz has completed his first term and is eligible for a second term. At-Large- Bob Spurley has served one term and is eligible for re-election. At-large unexpired term – previously held by Mikayla Wehrle. If anyone is interested in serving, please contact the state office at 608-723-7551 or wppa@wppa.org. Nominees for the Board are encouraged to be present and be a paid member. 2021 paid producer and associate members are eligible to vote.

WPA will also host their election of pork producer delegate candidates for the 2022 National Pork Producers (Pork Act) Delegate Body will take place on June 2 in conjunction with the Wisconsin Pork Association annual meeting at Chula Vista, Wisconsin Dells. All Wisconsin pork producers are invited to attend. Any producer, age 18 or older, who is a resident of the state and has paid all assessments due may be considered as a delegate candidate and/or participate in the election. All eligible producers are encouraged to bring with them a sales receipt proving that hogs were sold in their name and the checkoff deducted.

WPA has arranged for an optional afternoon activity. You may choose to enjoy Chula Vista water park for $15 per person or we can arrange a tour on the Original Wisconsin Dells Ducks, zip lining or golfing.
