CARLISLE, Pa. — Penn State Master Gardeners in Cumberland County are hosting a Wildlife Tree Ornaments Workshop for youth on Saturday, November 16, 2019, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Cumberland County Extension office, 310 Allen Road, Carlisle, PA, 17013. With the help of Penn State Master Gardeners, youth can make and take home feeders and natural ornaments to decorate outdoor trees and feed wildlife. Projects include a teacup and saucer feeder, corn husk feeder, dried wildflowers bouquet, apple feeder, cereal rings, and more! Youth can also make and take home a mini seed-starting greenhouse to grow plants that will benefit wildlife next year. No peanut or tree nut products will be used to make these projects.
Recommended ages for this workshop are 4 to 12, and a parent or guardian must remain with their child during the event. Come any time during the workshop hours and make one or all the projects offered. There also will be information available to take home about winter bird feeding. Please park and use the entrance at the back of the building.
The workshop fee of $10.00 per child covers the cost of all supplies. Pre-registration is requested by November 14. Visit https://extension.psu.edu/ and search ‘Wildlife Tree Ornaments Workshop’ to register online or call 877-345-0691.
