CANTON, N.Y. — The monthly gathering of the Bees & Beekeeping Discussion Group will be held on Wednesday, September 27.
A focus for this month will be an upcoming Pollinator Partnership program, where area residents will be encouraged to commit a certain square footage of their garden or acreage of their property for pollinator-friendly plantings.
The usual “Bee Group” gathering format of a casual monthly “Questions & Answers” type of event will be the focus of most of the meeting. This event is hosted by the Local Living Venture (LLV) on the last Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
All novice to advanced levels of beekeeper are welcome to ask questions and share in the successes and challenges of beekeeping in a relaxed group setting.
The Bee group gatherings are always free to attend, though free will donations are appreciated for workshop creation.
The location is the Betty Evans Community Room in the new wing of the E.J. Noble Medical Bldg. at 80 E. Main Street in Canton, NY. The entrance is on the left side, at street level, next to the E.J. Noble Hospital Guild’s butterfly and pollinators garden.
The building is next door to the Best Western and across from the Price Chopper on Rt. 11 in Canton, and will have an orange ‘Local Living Workshop Site’ lawn sign near the door.
The Local Living Venture is a community-based organization dedicated to sharing resourceful rural living skills for a capable and healthy community, based in the St. Lawrence River Valley.
