DeLAND, Fla. — Despite their social cohesion and impressive skills, honeybees are under threat. In many parts of the world, including the United States, large numbers of colonies have been lost, a phenomenon known as colony collapse disorder.
What’s killing these essential pollinators? Pollution, pesticides, parasites?
Volusia County beekeepers will share their thoughts on the topic from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 18, at the DeLand Regional Library, 130 E. Howry Ave.
