ALBANY — Exciting changes are taking place inside two of the Great New York State Fair’s signature buildings. In the Dairy Products Building, the highly-regarded Syracuse bakery, The Sweet Praxis, will take over the baked goods location next to the Milk Bar. The International Building will also see new additions: Syracuse’s Dang’s Café and Babcia’s Pierogis.
The Sweet Praxis will feature a working bakery, churning out fresh, hot cookies and brownies featuring ingredients made in New York State. The signature menu item: a cone of chocolate chip cookies, as the company says, “stacked so Jenga-esquely high, they’ll beg for a little Instagram love.” Bakery owners Natalie Evans and Jennifer Walls grew their two-woman table of baked goods at the Syracuse Regional Market into a permanent storefront in 2016 that allows guests to explore the kitchen and learn baking skills.
“We are very excited to begin this partnership with The Sweet Praxis. Natalie and Jennifer focus on customer service and their products are delicious. I know fairgoers are going to love this change,” said Troy Waffner, Fair Director.
Several new eateries are also coming to the roster of restaurants in the International Building. Syracuse’s Dang’s Café, named one of the 22 best new restaurants in Upstate by NewYorkUpstate.com, will now be offering fairgoers a taste of their Vietnamese-style dishes. Also coming to the International Building is Babcia’s Pierogis, the Buffalo-based company whose Polish specialties debuted at the 2018 Fair in a mobile vending vehicle.
