FORT DODGE, Iowa — The Webster County Extension Office is hosting a horse pasture management clinic on March 4, 2021, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Webster County Fairgrounds. The fairgrounds are located at 22770 Old Hwy 169, Fort Dodge.
This workshop will feature hands-on activities as well as a lecture style presentation on how to identify goals for your horse pasture, inventorying animals and pasture acres, evaluating and improving existing pasture, starting a new pasture, fertility and weed control in pastures and principles of grazing management to manage forage supply. Attendees will receive worksheets and resource materials included in the registration fee.
Registration for this workshop will cost $20 per person or $30 per couple. Interested parties should pre-register prior to March 1 by calling the Webster County Extension Office at 515-576-2119 or by completing the information at this link https://tinyurl.com/horsepasturemanagement. Registration fees can be paid in advance or at the door. We are currently prioritizing the health and safety of Iowans and are following current federal, state, local and university COVID-19 guidelines. Social distancing and masks will be required at this workshop.
