WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue’s Center for Commercial Agriculture will hold a special webinar on “Delayed Corn and Soybean Planting” this Thursday, May 23 at 4 p.m. (EDT). The focus of the program will be on two decisions facing farmers.
First, should they consider switching acres intended for corn to soybeans? Second, how does crop insurance fit into their decision making with respect to switching crops or, possibly, taking a prevented planting payment if soils remain wet and unsuitable for planting?
Purdue panelists include agricultural economists, Jim Mintert and Michael Langemeier, as well as corn specialist/agronomist, Bob Nielsen. Those interested can register for the webinar by visiting purdue.ag/webinar.
