AUGUSTA — APHIS is expanding theĀ Defend the FlockĀ public education program to include tools and resources for all poultry growers to use to practice good biosecurity. Biosecurity, which refers to everything we can do to keep diseases and the pathogens that carry them away from birds, property and people, is the most effective way to keep birds healthy.
We hope your organization will partner with APHIS to help spread the word. To kick off the campaign, veterinarians from APHIS and CDC will lead aĀ free webinar:Ā Letās Keep Our Poultry Healthy Together:Ā Defend Your Flock with Biosecurity ResourcesĀ on Wednesday, November 28 at 2:30pm ET.Ā Please invite your network to participate.
TheĀ Defend the FlockĀ public education program provides checklists, videos, webinars, and educational resources to help poultry growers make sure they are doing everything possible to keep their birds healthy and reduce the risk that an infectious disease will spread from their property to other flocks. All materials are free and available 24/7 at the Defend the Flock Resource Center atĀ www.aphis.usda.gov/
