MONTROSE, Pa. — The Penn State Extension Master Gardeners in Susquehanna County are looking forward to seeing everyone at the Harford Fair – August 15-20! Stop by the Master Gardener building (across from the 4-H building) and talk with Master Gardeners, see great displays, demo gardens, take a chance with your garden knowledge and spin our ‘Wisdom Wheel’ and win some prizes for kids and adults!
This year’s displays include: in our demonstration garden: ‘Invasive Plants: What to Choose Instead’, ‘Can you Identify the Invasives?’ (take a chance on winning the plants in the garden!) ‘What is an Heirloom?’, ‘How to Save and Prepare Your Seeds’ and ‘Creepy…and Cute Varmints: Practical Ideas for Pest Control.’
There will be question & answer with the Master Gardeners, an expansive bug display, educational handouts, books and publications, soil test kits, latest information on Spotted Lanternfly and Asian Jumping Worms. Also…are you interested in becoming a Master Gardener? Learn about the program and sign up to take the training which begins the first week in October and ends late March 2023.
Learn about ‘Digging for Answers’-a joint production between the Master Gardeners of Susquehanna County Pennsylvania, other nearby county programs, and the Susquehanna County Library. The purpose is to answer general gardening questions submitted by members of the community and to educate listeners on research-based best gardening practices.
