WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The 14th annual CTIC Conservation in Action Tour will highlight key conservation trends around the country in a special virtual tour with four 1-hour “tour stops.” Each “stop” will be part of the American Society of Agronomy’s Sustainable Agronomy Conference. Registration for the conference and tour is free, and CEUs will be available to Certified Crop Advisers (CCAs) who attend.
The four online tour modules will begin with a pre-recorded video that includes interviews with farmers, crop consultants, researchers and others. Each video will be followed by a live panel discussion and Q&A.
Tour sessions include:
- July 20: Carbon markets and new conservation opportunities for farmers
- August 3: Phosphorus credits and BMPs to reduce off-farm nutrient flow
- August 17: Pollinator habitat
- August 24: Connecting for conservation.
Each Sustainable Agronomy Conference session includes a one-hour American Society of Agronomy program beginning at 12:00 pm Eastern time, followed by a 1-hour CTIC Virtual Conservation in Action Tour video and panel beginning at 1:00 pm Eastern.
“We are really excited to be able to bring such a broad set of perspectives from around the U.S. through this year’s virtual format,” said Mike Komp, executive director of the Conservation Technology Information Center (CTIC). “We are making the most of both the online opportunity and our collaboration with the American Society of Agronomy. Though one of the special things about the Conservation in Action Tour has always been the chance to network with each other, this year’s program will highlight the tour series’ other great strength—outstanding speakers and the chance to really dig into conservation farming practices.”
Komp also thanked the sponsors of this year’s Conservation in Action Tour, including:
- Diamond level: Syngenta, John Deere, Bayer Crop Science, The Mosaic Company, Sand County Foundation
- Platinum level: Case IH
- Gold level: J.R. Simplot
- Silver level: The Nature Conservancy
