ANNAPOLIS, Md. — While agricultural leaders will miss gathering in person, the Maryland Agriculture Council Board of Directors will continue its mission to promote Maryland Agriculture and educate the public on its importance through a taped Taste of Maryland Agriculture program to air at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2021.
More than 700 typically attend this annual gala that unites the agricultural community and lawmakers for an evening to celebrate the state’s largest commercial industry. Hoping to reach thousands of viewers, the Council will continue the tradition of highlighting agricultural youth leaders, presenting agriculture education grants, and introducing the newest inductee into the Governor’s Agricultural Hall of Fame.
“We are pleased to continue the Taste of Maryland Agriculture, albeit a different format,” said Council President Nancy Nunn. “The agriculture community’s ability to adapt to change is not a surprise to any of us. Farming is a lifetime of adaptability to weather, economic factors, and world events. The same holds true for this Council and this event.”
Viewers are encouraged to enjoy Maryland-produced foods and beverages as they hear from agriculture and legislative leaders, learn about seven outstanding agriculture education initiatives across the state and share in the excitement as an exceptional farm family is inducted into the Governor’s Agriculture Hall of Fame.
