RICHMOND, Va. — Virginia Farm Bureau Federation will hold its 2022 Annual Convention and Annual Meeting of Voting Delegates Nov. 28 through Dec. 1 at The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
Farm Bureau will share remarks from speakers, event photos and news about its 2022 elections and annual awards in its online newsroom and online convention press room.
Speakers will include Matthew Lohr, Virginia Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry; Andrew Walmsley, American Farm Bureau Federation senior director of public affairs; and VFBF President Wayne F. Pryor. Participants in the event will recognize recipients of the inaugural Agricultural and Forestry Innovation Challenge and the annual VFBF Young Farmers Achievement Award and Young Farmers Discussion Meet competition.
County Farm Bureau leaders will gather Nov. 30 and Dec.1 for the Annual Meeting of Voting Delegates, which helps shape VFBF state and federal policies for the coming year. Policies related to national issues will be submitted to AFBF for consideration at that organization’s annual convention in January.
Delegates also will take part in elections for four seats on the VFBF board of directors, and for the organization’s president, vice president, Women’s Leadership Committee chair and Young Farmers Committee chair.
With 133,000 members in 88 county Farm Bureaus, VFBF is Virginia’s largest farmers’ advocacy group. Farm Bureau is a non-governmental, nonpartisan, voluntary organization committed to supporting Virginia’s agriculture industry.
