CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Join Penn State Master Gardeners in Franklin County for an informal, in-person workshop at their demonstration vegetable garden, the Victory Garden, to learn about vegetable gardening and taste test tomato samples from the Garden.
The August workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, August 16, 2022, from 6:30-7:30 pm, and will be held at the Victory Garden, across the street from the Extension office at 181 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Short talks by Master Gardeners on cross pollination, breeding new varieties, and saving seeds of edible crops will be followed by time for Q&A and a guided walk around the Victory Garden.
As part of the Penn State Master Gardener statewide project called “Grow, Save, Repeat,” the Master Gardeners will offer tasting samples of tomatoes being grown in the Victory Garden to determine the tastiest and favorite varieties for future breeding.
