MORRISVILLE, N.Y. — Learn to compost with WORMS! Cornell Cooperative Extension of Madison County is offering a beginner’s course on vermicomposting with Tina Jacobs from Devine Gardens, LLC.
Vermicomposting is the practice of using worms to recycle food scraps and other organic material into a valuable soil product called vermicompost. Your worms will eat food scraps, which become compost as they pass through the worm, leaving you with your vermicompost for your gardens, potted plants and more! This course is being offered on Thursday, June 27th from 6:30-8:30pm. Tina will be giving a presentation at her farm (4015 Ryan Road, Morrisville, NY 13408), on how to start vermicomposting at your own home! Registration is $20 per person and includes making a vermicomposting bin. The bin consists of a storage tote, paper shreds, and the worms. If you would like to attend this class as a family, it is $2 per each additional person in your family. This course is kid friendly!
If you would like to come learn more about vermicomposting, please call Tess Southern at (315)684-3001 ext. 101 or email to tas264@cornell.edu to register. Vermicomposting with Devine Gardens, LLC is organized by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Madison County and welcomes everyone to enjoy a day of community engagement, fun, and learning!
