OVID, N.Y. — Wouldn’t it be great to stop in the village of Ovid on your way through town on a summer evening and grab some fresh, local produce or locally made baked goods to have for dinner that evening? That could happen this summer as plans are underway to hold a farmers market in the village of Ovid.
If you are interested in helping to organize the market or have ever thought about selling your locally made or produced items at a farmers market, come to an informational meeting on Tuesday, April 2nd at 6PM in the conference room at Papa Bear building in Ovid.
The market is tentatively scheduled to be open Fridays from 3PM to 7PM in July and August in 2019. Increase your farm or business profitability by taking advantage of this low-cost means of tapping into a new pool of customers. Vendors are needed to make this effort a success. The key to this community farmers’ market is promoting locally grown and produced items.
So if you grow fruits or vegetables, produce honey or maple syrup, have nursery stock or cut flowers or make great baked goods or your own soap or other craft items, come to this informational meeting and see if it might work for you!
If you want to explore this exciting option for your products or just learn more about the market, join Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Ovid Farmers’ Market Committee for an informative meeting about this opportunity on Tuesday, April 2nd at 6PM at the Papa Bear building conference room.
