PIGEON FALLS, Wis. — March 20-22 UW Discovery Farms is set to host a series of three regional meetings in project areas around the state to present multiple years of on-farm research results. For over 15 years, UW Discovery Farms has performed water quality research on a diverse group of private farms across the state of Wisconsin. Farmers, consultants, educators, and ag industry professionals are encouraged to attend one or all of these meetings for an afternoon of education and discussion.
Discovery Farms will present region-specific results on topics including:
· Nitrogen Use Efficiency: Abby Augarten, Nitrogen Use Efficiency (NUE) Coordinator will present results from three years of the project and lead a discussion on how NUE data can evaluate the environmental and economic efficiency of corn production.
· Soil Health: As part of the NUE project, soil samples from participating farms were put through a soil health assessment. Get the first look at this cutting-edge data from Greg Richardson, UW-Madison Soil Science and Agroecology graduate student.
