WATERLOO, Iowa — Women, Food and Agriculture Network is reaching out to women farmland owners across the Midwest to talk about conservation options for their land. Have you inherited farmland or for other reasons trying to manage farming alone or with children or siblings? Do you own more than 40 acres, with some in crops? Do you want to learn more about what’s going on with the land you own? If this describes you, we invite you to have a light meal with us to meet and talk with other women like you.
We are working with the local conservation professionals in Black Hawk County to bring women in the area important information that can help improve soil health, water quality, farm profitability and also positively impact all of Iowa’s communities. The meeting is May 2 in the Crib at Barn Happy, 11310 University Ave, Cedar Falls, IA. Registration, coffee and resource sharing will begin at 8:30, with the meeting starting promptly at 9 and ending by 11:30 with lunch (and shopping in the Barn if you wish!)
Because of our unique discussion format, space is limited (sorry, no walk-ins) and registration is required. There is a $10 fee to help defray venue and food costs. The meeting will last about 3 hours, with optional additional discussion time to follow. To register, go to please respond by 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 30th at wfan.org/wcl-urban You may contact Carol at 641-430-2540 or carol@wfan.org.
