ORISKANY, N.Y. — Cornell Cooperative Extension Oneida County’s Master Gardener Volunteer program is offering gardening pop-up classes in the Extension’s Parker F. Scripture Botanical Gardens located at the Oneida County Farm & Home Center, 121 Second Street, Oriskany, NY. Register online.

Dahlia Planting Day: Dig in to this hands-on Dahlia class as our master gardeners take you through prepping your garden soil and correctly planting dahlias tubers. The FREE class runs 11:00 am to noon. Presenters: Susan Kimball and Pat Hagerty, MGV’s.

Hosta Dig Day: The gardening fun continues from 1:00-3:00 pm as you grab a shovel and practice the proper technique to divide hosta. Vegetable Garden Basics: Participants will take part in hands-on activities in the Extension’s raised bed vegetable garden covering everything from seeds, transplants and more. Plus, an indoor power point presentation including handouts. Class time 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. $5 for class, pay at the door. Rain or shine! Growing Microgreens Indoors: Learn how to grow delicious, healthy microgreens while creating your own make and take display. Class time 1:00 -3:00 pm. $5 pay at the door.
