ENFIELD, Conn. — Farm Credit East has released a new video on its Success Strategies Dairy Benchmarks program. The video provides a two minute overview of this unique benchmarking initiative for dairy farmers focused on profitability.

“In today’s competitive and often challenging business environment, farm businesses must be constantly analyzing performance and looking for ways to improve or adapt,” said Bill Zweigbaum, Farm Credit East consultant. “This benchmarking program helps producers identify weaknesses and maximize strengths to improve profitability, grow or adapt for long-term success.”

Success Strategies Dairy Benchmarks enables dairy producers to benchmark their own business over a series of years, as well as compare their business to contemporary peers. In addition to financial analysis, the program looks at production practices that impact profitability.

One of the most valuable components offered by this program is the expertise of a Farm Credit East business consultant to review the results of the individual benchmark report, offer feedback on performance and discuss issues that might impact the business – such as labor or succession planning.
