PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — University of Maine Cooperative Extension will offer a soil and agronomy workshop 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Dec. 5 at the University of Maine Presque Isle Campus Center, 181 Main Street. The workshop is designed for farmers, industry representatives, students and faculty.
Agronomy, the science of soil management and crop production, is a focus of study for presenter Sukhwinder Bali, UMaine Extension assistant professor and assistant professor of sustainable agriculture. Additional topics include soil fertility and health, diseases and insects, and a panel discussion. Ellen Mallory, Extension assistant professor and sustainable agriculture specialist, also will present.
The fee to register is $25 ($35 at the door); registration is online. Pesticide credits are available; an application for CCA credits has been made.
