WOODLAND, Calif. — We are fortunate to count many inspiring leaders and mentors among our researchers at UC ANR. Rachael Long just received the Bradford Rominger Agricultural Sustainability Leader Award from the Agricultural Sustainability Institute. She embodies the spirit of Cooperative Extension, the original incubator and extender of agricultural talent, by working with growers and other community members on agricultural sustainability research. Her ideas about the need for co-existence between farming, food production and wildlife conservation to create a better world for all were ahead of their time and now are mainstream.
