Blake will offer detailed explanations of the process of planting, maintaining, training, pruning and growing a range of fruits organically, including pawpaws, berries, jujube, apples, pears, peaches and plums.

Join Rachel Rudolph, UK Extension Vegetable Specialist, and Brent Rowell, UK Extension Professor in Sustainable Agriculture, as they explain and simplify the considerations, pros and cons, and realities of irrigation systems in small- to mid-scale crop production. Topics include: systems for high tunnel and open field; water pressure considerations and limitations; irrigation rates and frequency; low-cost and low-tech drip irrigation systems: rainwater catchment, gravity-fed, solar-powered; on-farm demonstrations and hands-on installation; troubleshooting, maintenance, fertigation, and more.
