SPRINGVALE, Maine — University of Maine Cooperative Extension and the Southern Maine Maple Sugarmakers Association will offer two half-day maple syrup workshops Saturday, Jan. 18 at the UMaine Extension York County office, 15 Oak St., Springvale.
“Intro to Backyard Sugaring: Maple Syrup 101,” 9–11:30 a.m., will feature demonstrations and discussion with experienced sugarmakers about all aspects of making maple syrup. “Scaling Up Your Maple Operations: Sap Collection 201,” 12:30–3 p.m., will examine sap collection tubing systems for producers with small- to medium-sized operations.
