FARGO, N.D. — The Precision Agriculture Team at NDSU has organized a workshop that we feel will capture the interests of your students. The team who will present not only represents NDSU faculty but a strong precision agriculture team from industry. These include presenters from Climate Corporation (Climate FieldView), FarmersEdge, GK Technology, John Deere-RDO, Case-IH, and Appareo. Due to some logistic issues and schedules, some presentations such as the presentations from Climate Corporation and the Technical University of Munich (Germany), will take place via zoom. Our team is prepared to share some of the latest in software/hardware and also provide you a chance for some hands-on activities (flying a drone, drone mapping including weed detection & weed identification, and the use of autonomous systems). We will provide suggestions about how to maintain a drone, share which drones have been the more reliable for the NDSU PAG team and provide suggestions about cost effective teaching aids that you can share with your HS Principal and Superintendent! As we wrap up the conference, we will provide ideas on how to develop lesson plans that you can take directly back to your classroom.
This continuing education workshop (1 credit) will begin promptly as 8:30 am on July 12 and conclude by 3:30-4:00 pm on the 13th of July. The cost for 1 credit of continuing education, including lunch & snacks, is $125.00. Attached please find the outline that we plan to follow for the workshop, including the registration link https://apps.ndsu.edu/dce-course-list/classdetails/ClassObj::114.
