UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Extension Dairy Team is hosting a Twilight Tour and Ag Safety Event in Berks County on August 18, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Corner View Dairy, 1028 Baldy Road, Kutztown, PA 19530, hosted by owner/farmer Brad Biehl.
No registration is required, and participants will enjoy the fellowship of friends and neighbors as well as an ice cream social, while learning about the farm. The Penn State Extension Dairy Team will have displays on hand and be available to answer any questions you may have.
Corner View Dairy offers a multitude of automated features on farm: an automated milking system, automatic calf feeders, in addition to total farm automation that includes automated curtain systems, chemicals, fans, GPS on cows, automated bedding, and robotic feed pusher.
Biehl is 4th generation of this 100-year-old operation and his children are 5th generation. They milk 120 cows, 3 x per day, with a per cow average of 90 lbs.
Biehl is a mechanical engineer and part owner in Galaxy, whose headquarters and manufacturing facility are on the farm, He is part owner and has worked with Galaxy to make beneficial changes to their milking system.
