HALLSTEAD, Pa. — The Penn State Extension Master Gardeners in Susquehanna County in partnership with the Montrose Area Adult School will be hosting a Tree Identification walk on Tuesday, September 20 at 6:00 pm at Kessler’s Tree Farm, 742 SR 1018, Hallstead PA 18822. Join Instructor retired State Forester and current Master Gardener, Jim Kessler for this hands-on class designed to help the students identify common trees and shrubs of Susquehanna County.
Participants will learn techniques as well as identify features and nomenclature and what they mean. Class will use leaves, stems, twigs, tree shapes, and habitat to identify 20 – 30 trees. Bring your tree book if you have one. Several will be available for use. The class will end at dark. Do not delay registering. There is a class limit of 15 people. Cost: $5.00
