COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Transitional Orchard Farm Tour at Honey Blossom Orchard to take place Saturday, August 11th, at 2 p.m. at 2950 Enterprise Ave., Napoleon, OH.
The 40 acre Honey Blossom Orchard consists of 10 acres of plum, peach and apples trees; bee hives; 1.5 acres of transitional organic vegetables and 25 acres of transitional organic grain managed by another local farmer.
Laura and Brad Hibbard have raised vegetables utilizing sustainable methods since 2011, after a family member died of cancer. They are now in the second year of transitioning the fruit orchard to organic.
Join this free farm tour to learn about the Hibbards’ transition to organic; discuss the mistakes, successes and difficulties they’ve had in working with local government and to shop their on-site farm store, featuring farm-produced honey, fruit, vegetables and bee supplies.
