JACKSONVILLE, Ill. — Illinois woodland owners have sold over $250 million worth of timber over the last decade. Truth be told, that financial figure should be much, much higher. The bad news: Illinois woodland owners are underselling their timber by millions of dollars every year.
To help, Timber Sales and Taxes in Illinois will take place Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, 9 a.m. to noon at the Morgan County office of Illinois Extension in Jacksonville. Extension State Forester Jay Hayek will specifically discuss how to market your timber, how to properly conduct a timber sale, how to involve a professional forester, and how to guarantee you more income and more timber sales over your land ownership tenure!
Registration is required, and seating is limited. Cost is $15 per person or $5.00 for Extension Master Gardeners or Master Naturalists. Masking will likely still be required.
Register online at https://go.illinois.edu/treemoney or for more information contact Duane Friend at 217-243-7424. The deadline to register is February 11, 2022.
