BISMARCK — The generosity and goodwill of people are being displayed this week with NDFB’s fire relief efforts. And what a start it has been.
You know, we see the excitement in people when they come out to the events. People want to help people that are in need, and at the events we’ve organized in conjunction with the good folks that run sale barns across this state, Dakota Cattle Drive 2017 is off to a great start.
In fact, I can confidently say we are well into the five-figure donations and we’re just getting started. You know, we had events at Rugby yesterday, an event at Devils Lake today, and a great response was shown at both events.
And we’ve got events coming up yet. You still have time to participate in the fundraising for wildfire relief through Dakota Cattle Drive 2017, continuing tomorrow, the fifth, at Kist in Mandan, the sixth at Napoleon Livestock in Napoleon, and on the 13th, Stockmen’s in Dickinson. And don’t forget, you can go to our website. We have the ability for you to share a contribution there to help out those folks in Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas that have been affected and ravaged by millions of acres burned through the wildfires. Thousands of head of cattle lost. Thousands of miles of fenceline lost. Homes lost. Businesses lost. Equipment lost through the fires that swept through those areas in those states.
So visit our website – ndfb.org/cattledrive – all the donations between now and April 20, will be sent to the relief funds in those states, and we will send every penny that we’ve raised, to make sure that every dime gets into the pockets of someone that’s in need that’s been affected by these wildfires.
I can’t say it enough: Great people, doing great things, stepping up when there’s a need, just a few states away. Congratulations and thank you to everyone that’s been involved to make Dakota Cattle Drive 2017 a wonderful event to help those in need.
