BURLINGTON, Vt. — This year’s workshop program on greenhouse and high tunnel IPM is multi-faceted, with presentations on biological control, disease management and sprayer calibration. Our featured speaker is Brian Spencer, Biocontrol Specialist from Applied Bio-nomics, Victoria BC Canada, back by popular demand. His company is the only one worldwide producing FRESH natural enemies, which maximizes their effectiveness. He will talk about new beneficials that are commercially available and how to use them.
Cheryl Smith, plant pathologist from UNH, will provide step-by-step guidance on how to id your plant diseases, and discuss how to reduce disease problems and improve plant health. Hands-on demonstrations will be provided on calibrating backpack sprayers and releasing natural enemies to ensure maximize effectiveness. The popular grower-to-grower session will give attendees an opportunity to share their successes and failures with IPM.
These workshops are for growers with greenhouses or high tunnels, extension specialists and professional pest managers. Growers of all experience levels and from any state are welcome to attend any location. Preregistration is required.
