RANDOLPH, Vt. — The Vermont Environmental Consortium and Vermont Technical College (VTC) are excited to announce registration is open for their annual environmental Conference, The State of Vermont’s Water. The conference will be held June 6, 2018 at VT Technical College in Randolph, VT. The event runs from 8:00AM – 4:00PM. Pre-registration includes all sessions and lunch. The Conference welcome and opening remarks will be given by VEC President Miles Waite, Waite-Heindel Env. Mgmt; Allan Rodgers, Academic Dean, Vermont Tech; and by Julie Moore, Vermont ANR Secretary.
Topics to be discussed are: Update on Procedure for Class IV Groundwater Reclassification; Groundwater Protection, Management and Coordination – the Groundwater Protection Rule & Groundwater Management Plan; Preliminary Characterization of an Aquifer(s) Contaminated with Nitrate at a Dairy Farm in Hardwick, Central Vermont; Best Management Practice Changes at a Dairy Farm in Hardwick in Response to Nitrate Contamination of Groundwater; Chloride trends from a long-term monitoring study in an urban chloride-impaired waterway, Chittenden County, Vt; PFAS Testing Results at Selected Landfills and Waste Water Treatment Facilities and Overview of State-wide Background Study; Harnessing College Curriculum to Characterize a PFOA Contaminant Plume: Process and Results; 4D Aquifer Characterization in Bennington, VT: A Status Report; Evaluating the Impacts of Subsurface Agricultural Tile Drainage Systems to Water Quality in Vermont; Lake Champlain Phosphorus TMDL –Northern Lake Implementation Status; Storm water Rule Update; Agricultural Water Quality Practices; and Green Streets, Great Streets: Integrating Water Quality into the Urban Landscape.

Lunch in Dining Hall will include a VTC presentation of the new Environmental Lab by Guy Roberts, Director of the VT Agriculture and Environmental Lab (VAEL). There will be opportunities to visit exhibitors during breaks.
