CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Hosted by The Land Connection, the 3rd annual Organic Grain Conference & Trade Show will take place on February 13th and 14th at the I Hotel and Conference Center at 1900 S 1st St. in Champaign.
The Conference brings together diverse stakeholders to explore advancements and emerging issues in grain farming. Keynote speaker Dr. Francis Thicke will discuss “Defending the Core of the Organic Standard.” Session topics this year include Navigating Organic Certification, USDA Add-on Labels, Genetic and Spray Drift on Organic Crops, Nitrogen Management, Managing a Parallel Operation, Participatory Testing in Corn, Grain Buyers Panel, and the Effect of Tariffs and Imports on Grain Market Prices.
Already the largest event in Illinois dedicated solely to organic grain education, research, and networking, the 2019 conference will build upon the first two amazing years by increasing the number of break out sessions from two to four and growing the trade show to more than 25 vendors. In addition, the first day of the conference will be a special break-out track devoted to transitioning to organic grain production.
Early-bird registration for the conference runs through January 31st, with 1-day registration starting at $45 and a 2-day conference package starting at $99. Lunch is included on both days. Registration for the Conference & Trade Show on February 14 (Day 2) includes breakfast and a local Beer & Spirits Mixer at the conclusion of the conference. Registration closes February 10th.
