SAN ANGELO, Texas — Texas Section Society for Range Management recognized ranchers and range managers at their annual meeting that was held virtually last Monday.
Outstanding Achievement was awarded to Dr. Doug Tolleson, Associate Professor, Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Rangeland, Wildlife, and Fisheries Management Department, Sonora, TX.
Fellow was awarded to Dr. Bill Fox, Associate Professor, Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Rangeland, Wildlife, and Fisheries Management Department, Temple, TX.
Frank Price from Sterling City, TX was recognized as Outstanding Contribution to Rangeland Management.
Taylor Ranch – Gray, Pampa, TX was recognized as TSSRM Outstanding Rangeland Management award.
Hoover K Bar Company, Ozona, TX was recognized as TSSRM, and Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association Outstanding Rangeland Stewardship award.
Dry Creek Ranch, San Angelo, TX, was recognized as TSSRM, Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, and Texas Grazing Lands Coalition Outstanding Rangeland Stewardship award.
Outstanding Young Range Professional was awarded to Jose “Pepe” De la luz Martinez, NRCS, Kingsville, TX.
TSSRM recognized Dale Rankin, Atascosa County Extension Agent, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and Gary Fuentes, Natural Resource Conservation Service, Van Horn as Grass Roots award recipients for their excellence in on-the-ground, local, grassroots work in range management.
TSSRM also awarded two scholarships to Angelo State University student, Zane Allen of Gail, TX and Southwest Texas Jr. College student, Tristan Sullivan, of Centerville, TX.
