HOUSTON, Mo. — An evening informational program will be held for Texas County livestock and forage producers from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 21, at the Texas County University of Missouri Extension Conference Room located at 114 West Main Street in Houston.
The event will be free of charge and a meal will be served before the program. There is limited space available, so those interested in attending are asked to pre-register by March 12. “Making the most from their investments is always a top concern for producers,” says Eric Meusch, agriculture educator with Texas County University of Missouri Extension. “Whether it’s finding better ways to manage soil fertility or improving the quality and marketability of livestock, it is important to stay as informed as possible.”
There will be three presenters at the conference.
Elizabeth Picking, University of Missouri Extension livestock specialist, will present the latest information on fetal programming in beef cattle.
Steve Koch, MFA Agri Services precision specialist, will present an overview of what is possible with precision fertilizer application.
Leon Caselman, with the Buffalo Livestock Market, will provide a sale barn’s prospective how best prepare your calves to bring higher prices.
Hosts for the Beef and Forage Seminar include Texas County University of Missouri Extension and the Texas County Soil and Water Conservation District. Additionally, several area businesses are contributing financially to the event to help make the event possible.
