COLUMBIA, S.C.–Experience life on the one horse family farm in Horry County from 1900-1955 at the L.W. Paul Living History Farm. A large part of farm life in the first half of the twentieth century was old-fashioned syrup making. Cooking down the raw juice into sweet cane syrup became a celebration and gathering for the community.
Join us to relive that celebration at the L. W. Paul Living History Farm as staff and volunteers will be making syrup. Traditional demonstrations will take place throughout the day including grinding corn into grits and meal, blacksmithing, cooking on a wood stove, butter making and more.
