MONTROSE, Pa. — On May 25 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Hall in Montrose, Mary Catherine Chidester became the 2018/2019 Susquehanna County Dairy Princess and Brooke Arnold Alternate Dairy Princess.
Mary Catherine is the daughter of Charles and Lorraine Chidester, homeschooled completing her junior year of high school. Princess Mary Catherine lives on her family dairy farm in Brooklyn Township, spending many hours helping on the farm. Alternate Princess Brooke is the daughter of Mark & Becky Arnold completing her junior year at Elk Lake High School. Brooke is a 4-H dairy project member, raising her dairy animals on her Grandfather Arnold’s former dairy farm.
During her reign Dairy Princess Mary Catherine Chidester will fulfill her duties with the help of Alternate Princess Brooke Arnold, Dairy Ambassadors Kaelynn Brant, Alivia Hughes, Jillian Gustin, Elizabeth Chidester, Courtney Marvin and Holly Harvatine as well as Dairy Maids Chelsea Empet, Autumn Bonavita, Ava Hughes and Katelyn Farley.
This team of dairy promoters will be working together educating both adults and young children and all ages in between about the importance of dairy products being part of their diet as well as being advocates for Susquehanna County dairy farmers.
At Pageant 2016/2017 Susquehanna County Dairy Princess Brooke Marvin and 2012/2013 Dairy Princess and PA State Alternate Princess Callie Curley presented the evening program.
Brooke Marvin welcomed everyone to Pageant and introduced all of the girls to speak. Brooke reported on the over 550 dairy promotions completed by the 2017/2018 dairy promotion team.
Callie Curley presented outgoing Princess Michayla Stahl with a scholarship award provided by the Susquehanna County Dairy Promotion Committee to be used when she begins college in fall of 2019. Outstanding scrapbook awards were presented to 2017-2018 Dairy Promotion Team members Vicki Clark, Alivia Hughes, Mary Catherine Chidester and Katelyn Farley. Receiving honorable mention awards were Kaelynn Brant, Michayla Stahl, Elizabeth Chidester and Courtney Marvin.
2017/2018 Dairy Princess Michayla Stahl gave a farewell speech complementing the members of her court on the excellent job they did working with her during the past year and wished the new Dairy Princess Mary Catherine and Alternate Princess Brooke and all of the Dairy Maids and Dairy Ambassadors on the Susquehanna County Dairy Promotion Court a successful year of promoting the dairy industry all around Susquehanna County.
2017/2018 Alternate Dairy Princesses Vicki Clark and Dana Nunemacher crowned Alternate Princess Brooke Arnold followed by 2017/2018 Dairy Princess Michayla Stahl crowning 2018/2019 Dairy Princess Mary Catherine Chidester assisted by crown bearer Ava Hughes.
