MORRISVILLE, N.Y. — The Central New York Dairy, Livestock and Field Crops (CNYDLFC) Team of Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) will be offering a workshop series “Succession Planning Workshop Series for Farm Businesses” at the CCE Madison County office in Morrisville. The sessions will be held on February 11, February 25 and March 11, 2019, 10am-2:30pm each day. The cost is $60 per person, which includes all three sessions, materials and lunch. Specialists from Cornell Cooperative Extension and PRO-DAIRY are organizing this workshop series for farm owners and managers to acquire skills, tools and tactics for success in multi-generational farm businesses. The three sessions will build on each other, starting with skills for effective communication, teamwork and problem-solving. Additional topics will include assessing business viability, setting individual and team goals, and developing a transfer plan. The interactive small-group format will incorporate presentations, activities, and peer-to-peer discussion. To get the most out of the program, members of each generation involved in the business are encouraged to attend together.
