CHARLESTON, S.C. — Managing a dairy farm in today’s stormy seas of market volatility, input pricing and labor challenges requires not only a steady hand, but also the ability to react quickly and nimbly to business opportunities. The 2019 PDPW Managers Academy for Dairy Professionals™ will bring together top speakers, executive-level tours and networking opportunities to help dairy professionals successfully navigate today’s markets.
The three-day executive program will be held Jan. 15-17 at the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina, and is designed for dairy owners and managers, industry directors, processors, marketers and distributors looking to improve their management and leadership skills.
“The 2019 Managers Academy brings together two incredible facilitators that will show participants the power of both lean, focused management skills and team management built on servant leadership,” said Shelly Mayer, executive director of PDPW. “The tours and executive-level training are in step with the needs of dairy farmers and professionals looking for innovative ways to manage the volatility of today’s industry.”
Two world-class trainers will facilitate the 2019 sessions. Ray Davis is a managing partner with Supply Velocity, a leader in business execution, process improvement and supply chain management. He brings 35 years of executive, sales, marketing and entrepreneurial experience. Tom Thibodeau has been a faculty member at Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wis., for 35 years, and combines humor and the ability to inspire others in his trainings to build leadership skills.
The Managers Academy will also feature three tour opportunities to give participants behind-the-scenes views of uniquely-Charleston sites that will provide new perspectives on sustainability, managing regulations and overcoming obstacles. Tours will be held at Charleston Tea Plantation, the Port of Charleston, and Carolina Peanuts.
The 2019 PDPW Managers Academy is brought to you in partnership with Progressive Dairyman, Rabo AgriFinance, and Zinpro Performance Minerals.
