LOUISBURG, N.C. — The popular regional “Successful Small Farms Opportunities Conference” will be held at Louisburg College campus in Louisburg on Saturday, February 8th from 8:00 am – 3:30 p.m.
Topics include: “Powering your farm w/ Alternative Energy”, “Niche fruit farming: paw paw, Kiwi, etc.”, “Vermiculture Production”, “Hemp Processing”, “Other Funds for your Farm: NRCS & Soil & Water”, “Food Safety and more”, “Silvopasture on Your Farm”, “Small Scale Dairy: Production & Marketing”, and “Goat and Sheep Production & Marketing.”
The keynote speaker, Dr. Francesco Tiezzi from NCSU, will speak on “Italy’s Small Scale Agriculture.” In addition, there will be a free Seed Exchange again this year for participants. Registration is $60 per person which includes refreshments, lunch, and resource materials.
